A wee bit easier

And then one day you realize that life is just a tiny bit easier. Some of the heavy slogging is behind you, some of the self doubt and second guessing is over, and suddenly the sun is shining a wee bit brighter.

It’s been a tough couple of months but maybe summer is ready to enter my heart ❤️

Watch who you’re throwing shade at please

Someone made a few disparaging comments directed at me the other day. But here’s the thing;

A) I’m far from perfect

B) I’m aware of my imperfections

C) your opinions of my imperfections are just that, your opinion, see item B.

D) I care very little about your opinion of my imperfections

E) I’m working on my imperfections, are you?

F) more important than any of this is, aren’t the eyelashes on this sketch adorable?

Choices

Unexpected happenstances

Or just choosing to change the lens you view the world through.

They call it summer love

Forgive

Are we remembering to forgive ourselves?

Especially for things we didn’t know we didn’t know?

Happy Solstice

Dad?

This fresh strawberry crumble is for all the single moms on Fathers Day.

My boys will tell you I was probably a better dad than I was a mom,

Thanks guys

Stitching a life

It is in the small moments,

Blue skies, blooming roses,

Dark chocolate,

The gentle pat on the back from a friend,

Mixed with service to others, Monday morning blahs, and gut wrenching heartbreak that all come together to create a life of meaning and joy.

Oh, and fresh strawberries eaten in the sunshine

Joy in life

During an ice storm a few years ago a beautiful old weeping cherry fell over in the yard. I left the roots and fallen stump because there was beauty in the mossy bark and it was a perfect home for Buddha

Over the years the tree has started re-growing and the most amazing microcosm has formed. The leaves have aphids, which brings tiny black beetles who eat the aphids, which brings bushtits to eat the tiny beetles and aphids.

Bushtits are itty bitty little birds who happily twitter in the weeping cherry not a foot from my head and bring me great joy, for which I am grateful
