“Everyone has a story that will break your heart. And, if you’re really paying attention most people have a story that will bring you to your knees” Brene Brown
We have been trained to pretend that everything is wonderful. If anyone asks how we are we say “oh I’m fine, how are you”.
When did this happen? How did it become weak to acknowledge our lives are imperfect? Believe me, if the clerk at the grocery store asks, yep tell them you’re great. But we do this with real friends, family and spouses.
There must be a way to break the perfection myth without seeming like a complainer.
What do you think?
I’m sure it goes back to the days of making pleasant conversation in public and not airing one’s dirty laundry. Thank goodness for my hubby and my best friend who both allow me to vent and destress, and I do the same for them. Hoping you have many peaceful days ahead!
